Well, we're a group of moms with a common bond--
our kids and Texas A&M University. We have chapters all
over the country that make up a federation with a common goal of
supporting the university's many organizations and needs.
But we go beyond that. We share the same hopes and
dreams for our kids: the same fears and worries. We share the same desire
to see them through their four (or five...or six...) years as successfully
as possible. We are married, divorced and widowed. We are comforting
an empty nest. Or we still have kids at home. We are extroverts. We
are introverts. And since we are mothers first and last, we sometimes
need the help of each other to get us through the rough times...when
we need to get information and numbers to call, when we need a little
empathy after one of those irratic phone calls home or lack
of one. Yes, we share it all, because after all we are, each of us,
a member of the institurion of motherhood-- Isn't it grand?
