Area Students Receive Landon Scholarships

Wells Fargo Investment Management & Trust of San Angelo has announced the 2001 recipients of the James C. and Katherine B. Landon Scholarship.

San Angelo graduates receiving the scholarship are Andrew Ryan Tomlinson, LakeView High School; and Alvin Sheppard, Benjamin Hester and Callie Lynn Latam, Central High School. Latham is a first-year student at Texas A&M.

Area graduates receiving the scholarship include Kristi Lane Warrick, Water Valley High School; Andrea Rae Allen, Sonora High School; Moriah Ann Jennings, Fredonia Cornerstone Home School; and Jana Lorel Sheffield, Coleman High School.

The Landon Scholarship, established by Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Landon, benefits deserving students in West Texas who plan to attend Texas A&M University. The scholarship provides $1,000 persemester for up to eight semesters of undergraduate studies at Texas A&M main campus in College Station, as well as the campus lovated in Galveston.

Letters and applications are sent to West Texas high school principals and/or counselors in February. Application must be post-marked or returned to Wells Fargo Investment Management & Trust by April 1.
