Howdy Aggie Moms!
Somehow I can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by. I am already writing something for the February Newsletter, which only leaves 3 months in the regular year for the club. Seems like just yesterday I was trying to figure out what to put in the August newsletter!
It was so wonderful to host the Singing Cadets January 10. Thanks so much to
Suzy Mears and Judy Turner for heading the committee for this event!! They did a great job and I know that the Singing Cadets were impressed by all we did – and especially thankful for the meal that was provided to them by Texas Roadhouse. They were particularly thankful that it wasn’t brisket! Apparently they see a lot of brisket at the meals the various clubs put on during their semester break tour. If you missed them here, you can see them again during Parents Weekend in April at Aggieland. We had a good crowd and their music was awesome. Thanks again to all the committee members who made this event HAPPEN!
The next membership meeting is February 21st at
Trinity
Lutheran
Church. Please note the separate article about this meeting in the newsletter and set this date on your calendar. If you would like to bring refreshments, please contact Jet McGarvey at 944-2991. She’ll be more than happy to include you as a hostess for the February meeting!
Our next event will be the Wine Tasting at D’Vine Wine on March 27. All you have to do is buy a ticket and show up for a great time! This is the kind of fundraiser we like to have – not too much work and lots of fun! There will be a limited number of tickets to sell, as the space there is limited. So contact Susan Solomon or Lucy Jochum to reserve a ticket.
Please be sure to remind your Aggies that the scholarship application form for the yearly club scholarship(s) is available on our club’s website http://www.sanangeloaggiemoms.org/. All they have to do is print the form and follow the directions as indicated. The endowed scholarship is handled through the San Angelo Area Foundation and your student will need to contact them for further information and directions. Their website is http://www.sanangeloareafoundation.org. Nevie Lacy is chairperson of the Scholarship Committee and can be contacted for any further information.
Hope to see you all at the February Membership meeting!
In Aggie Mom Love,
Chris Hunter

MARCH MEETING – Goody Bags
Our March meeting will be at Trinity Lutheran. We will assemble the Spring Goodie Bags for our students at that time, and we have approximately 80 students at A&M. Be on the lookout for what you will want to include for our kids. Additional info you might think about:
- Goodies can include pens, pencils, small food/snack items, (candy, popcorn, Raman noodles, crackers, gum) toothbrushes, note pads, etc.
- Please avoid liquid items.
- Please do not bring strong flavored minty gums. Apparently, the strong flavors permeate other items.
- Watch for heat sensitive items, as bags are sometimes stored in the truck of a car for several days.
Please do not feel you have to purchase for all 70 students. Either contact other Aggie Moms and go in together or if you would like to let Lanee know at lanee.warrick@wvisd.net and she will hook you up with 2 or 3 other people.
