PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Howdy!

I hope you were able to travel to A&M and participate in the fun at Parents' Weekend. I saw several of you at Boutique and the Cadets' concert, and you seemed to be having a great time. I hope your entire weekend was a success, because mine sure was. I enjoyed hanging out at Boutique and helping Shelley with that project. Boutique is quite a unique place to be, and lots of fun for shopping, too. Over those two days I:

visited with my Aggie Mom Camp Counselor from last fall, met two of our Aggie Moms' "Best friends since childhood" who were at Boutique because they are also now Aggie Moms, shopped for gifts, met Benjamin Knox, shopped for myself, got great fundraising ideas, "bonded" with my roommates, enjoyed the wildflowers on the drive to and from, ate some GREAT food at Olive Garden, The Boat and Fratelli's, and enjoyed the Singing Cadets Spring Concert, where I got to see the Bufos and Old Men do some new skits. If you don't know what a Bufo or an Old Man is, ask someone who hosted a Cadet in January! I hope you had a fun weekend as well.

Boutique was a success, and most of the Snazzy Stools were sold. Shelley will have details on the amount of money raised at our meeting, but I believe the total will be a little more than $1500!! Thanks to all of you who painted stools, worked in the booth, or just came by to say hello. We appreciate your support.

I look forward to seeing you all at the April meeting, on Thursday April 20, where our local Aggie, Bill Johnson, will share with us some of his own personal Aggie Muster experiences, including Musters in Viet Nam. Aggie Muster is a great Aggie Tradition, and for those of us who did not attend A&M ourselves, this should be a great opportunity to better understand this particularly moving and unique Aggie Tradition. I hope to see you there.

Gig 'em,

Nevie Lacy

NEW AGGIE MOM COOKBOOK

Over the next year San Angelo Aggie Moms will be putting together a new cookbook with the delivery date scheduled for January 2007. This will give us plenty of time to get the recipes typed in, proofread, and submitted to the publisher. We will have time to proof again once the book is delivered before taking it to Boutique in April of 2007. The main theme for this cookbook will be occasions and we will also feature favorite family menus. We have narrowed down our categories to the following:

Fall Feasts and Festivals – pretty much self explanatory
Girls Night Out – Bunko, Bridge, Aggie Mom Sleepovers, Meetings, etc.
When They All Come Home – Holidays, Family Reunions, Celebrations such as Christenings, Graduation, Birthdays, etc.
Showers and Brunches – Weddings, Showers, Brunches, Coffees, and Teas
Tailgating and Bowl Parties – pretty much self explanatory
If anyone would like to submit an entire menu for one of the dividers listed above, we will be charging $25 per menu submitted. You can put as many recipes as you would like at no charge. For more information on this, please contact Lanee Warrick at 484-3005 laneewarrick@aggienetwork.com or Debbie Lisoski at 469-3935 dlisoski@saisd.org.

We have enclosed a form to be used to submit your recipes or to bring them to the next few meetings. We would like to have these in by the November meeting. Please feel free to make copies of the form for additional recipes.
