PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Howdy!
Thanks to those of you who came to our February meeting, where Ron Sasse answered our questions about Residence Halls at A & M, and gave us an overview of the university’s plans for updating and replacing residence halls in the next few years. Ron also brought lots of goodies for door prizes, and we love those door prizes. Thanks, too, to Harriet Sansone for opening her home to us for this meeting.
March is Goody Bag month, so we are returning to Trinity Lutheran for this meeting. Thanks to a contribution from one of our members, our containers this semester are Sterilite boxes with flip top lids, the perfect size for CD storage. We will have 85 Aggies to provide goodies for, so start shopping! We encourage you to look through the directory and call up another Aggie Mom to pool your funds for this project. Homemade items are always appreciated, too, such as bookmarks, refrigerator magnets, or notes of encouragement. Remember, the purpose of these containers is to provide a lift and a little encouragement to help our students get through finals! You will be able to take your students’ box home at the end of the evening, and have it ready for him/her to take back to campus after Easter weekend. If you won’t be able to attend, please contact another member and ask her to pick up your students’ box for you.
As we visit, eat, and prepare goody boxes at this meeting, we will be able to enjoy the Powerpoint presentation that Lanee Warrick’s students prepared for the Singing Cadets concert. What fun, to see these photos of our students in this presentation, and Lanee has updated it with photos from the Singing Cadets concert. I am looking forward to seeing this, and know you won’t want to miss it either. We will also have the judging of the SNAZZY STOOLS, with prizes awarded! Please BRING BACK THOSE SNAZZY STOOLS, and VOTE for your favorites! We will also have our election of officers for next year at our business meeting afterward.
See you soon!
Nevie

PARENTS’ WEEKEND - April 7-9
Parents’ Weekend is almost here! This is a fun weekend to visit your student, and there are lots of optional activities on campus that you can participate in and attend. A complete listing of events can be found at http://parentsweekend.tamu.edu/events.html. This year’s dates are April 7-9, and among the highlighted events are:
Midnight Yell, BEVO Burn BBQ, Aggie Moms Boutique, Maroon and White Game, All University Awards, and Singing Cadets Spring Concert. Check the websites for details.
One of the fun events this weekend is Spring Boutique which will be held Friday, April 7, 9-4:30 and Saturday, April 8, 9-4 at Reed Arena. If you have never attended Boutique, you are missing out on an amazing spectacle of Aggie Shopping. Boutique is put on exclusively by Aggie Moms clubs as a major fundraiser. You can find Christmas Decorations, Décor, Clothing, Jewelry, Art, Yard art, China, Crystal, and just about anything you can possibly imagine with an Aggie flair, at Boutique, on the floor of Reed Arena. Upstairs on the concourse are raffles for one-of-a-kind items such as quilts, barbecue pits, trunks, chairs, art and more. These are worth a walk-by, as there are really some amazing items offered for raffle. Brings lots of $1 bills and maybe even a page of pre-printed labels with your name, address and cell phone number just in case you win! Make sure you stop by for an hour or two.
WE NEED YOUR HELP AT BOUTIQUE!
We will be selling Cookbooks, Flip flops, Gift jars, Snazzy Stools, Damn-it Dolls and other handcrafted items at Boutique during these two days. Please contact Shelly Gregg at 374-4640 and volunteer to help out for an hour or two during this time. We appreciate your help so we can have time to eat lunch, and do a little shopping, too.
Please consider helping out at this event. Come, work an hour or two, and shop before or after. You’ll have a ball! This is a great opportunity to meet and greet other students and parents, too.
SUNSHINE COMMITTEE
Our Sunshine Committee mailed out Sonic meal cards to our students recently. The envelope also contained a reminder about our scholarships, and how to apply. If your student did not receive a meal card, please contact our VP of Membership, Theresa Fortin to confirm your student’s address. We have had several envelopes returned by the post office, and more may be misdirected, so make sure we have your student’s current address so we can get these cards to them.

NEW AGGIE MOM COOKBOOK
Over the next year San Angelo Aggie Moms will be putting together a new cookbook with the delivery date scheduled for January 2007. This will give us plenty of time to get the recipes typed in, proofread, and submitted to the publisher. We will have time to proof again once the book is delivered before taking it to Boutique in April of 2007. The main theme for this cookbook will be occasions and we will also feature favorite family menus. We have narrowed down our categories to the following:
- Fall Feasts and Festivals – pretty much self explanatory
- Girls Night Out – Bunko, Bridge, Aggie Mom Sleepovers, Meetings, etc.
- When They All Come Home – Holidays, Family Reunions, Celebrations such as Christenings, Graduation, Birthdays, etc.
- Showers and Brunches – Weddings, Showers, Brunches, Coffees, and Teas
- Tailgating and Bowl Parties – pretty much self explanatory
If anyone would like to submit an entire menu for one of the dividers listed above, we will be charging $25 per menu submitted. You can put as many recipes as you would like at no charge. For more information on this, please contact Lanee Warrick at 484-3005 laneewarrick@aggienetwork.com or Debbie Lisoski at 469-3935 dlisoski@saisd.org.
We have enclosed a form to be used to submit your recipes or to bring them to the next few meetings. We would like to have these in by the November meeting. Please feel free to make copies of the form for additional recipes.

PARENT & STUDENT INFORMATION
Off-Campus Housing
Several resources are available through Student Life's Adult, Graduate, and Off-Campus Student Services (AGOSS) to assist with the transition to off-campus housing. The "Survival Manual" is available through their office in Cain Hall, and has information about off-campus living options. Additionally, almost all the guide contents are also available to browse on-line including a searchable database for off-campus housing and roommates through Aggie Search <http://aggiesearch.tamu.edu> !
Known as "the best way to search for roommates and housing in the Bryan/College Station area", Aggie Search is a powerful tool to help students locate housing options. See for yourself what resources are
available at: http://studentlife.tamu.edu/agoss/AggieSearch/ Additionally, don't forget to recommend the roommate contract available through Student Conflict Resolution Services (SCRS) in Cain Hall, or
