Howdy Aggie Moms!
“The falling leaves drift by my window, the autumn leaves of red and gold” – boy, does that song sure date me!
Can’t help it, that’s what I think of when I think of fall.
I guess here that isn’t too appropriate.
The leaves don’t usually fall until after the first freeze, which may not be until November, and they may never turn to red and gold.
Oh well, I can dream, can’t I??
Hopefully your Aggies are well into having a great Fall Term and enjoying all the fun and festivities of Aggie football!
My little 2-year-old grandson Kenneth even is excited about Aggie football – you should see him in his too-large Aggie football helmet…maybe Coach Fran should recruit him…hmmm??
We have a great program lined up for the Membership Meeting on October 18.
It will be held at the home of Kande Bahlman on 5220 Fairway; that is so very special to have it held in a home.
VP Kathe has lined up some financial counselors to talk to us about financial planning, which we ALL should be concerned about, right?
October is also the month for our China Luncheon, “A Place At Our Table.”
It will be held on October 20 at
First
Methodist
Church beginning at 11:00 a.m.
This was such a special, fun event last year and it promises to be even more so this year.
Suzy Mears and J.Ann Lange, along with the entire committee, have worked very hard on this event and deserve immense thanks from all of us!
There will be a style show, LOTS of wonderful door prizes, and a fabulous home cooked meal prepared by the Aggie Moms!
Get your friends and relatives together and contact Vickie Foreman to get a reservation for a table.
This was a great fundraiser last year and just a great, fun gathering as well!
Don’t miss it!!!
You will be able to pick up your new club Yearbook at the October meeting, so that’s another great reason to attend the meeting.
A HUGE thanks to Lanee Warrick for putting this together yet another year.
Having done this job in my distant past with the club, I know that it is a monumental undertaking.
So, thanks Lanee for your hard work!
Also thanks to Vickie Foreman for heading the Membership drive this year.
The final count isn’t in yet, but we’ll have that also at the October meeting.
If you know of someone who has NOT joined the club and is eligible, encourage them to join even now.
The only thing they won’t receive is their name in the Yearbook; however, they still will get all the benefits of club membership for their Aggie and all the love and camaraderie that goes with being an Aggie Mom!
Be sure to read all the articles that follow as they contain lots of information about the events and happenings of our club.
Don’t forget that the cookbooks are HERE and you can contact me to make arrangements to pick them up.
Hope to see you at the Membership Meeting and the China Luncheon!
In Aggie Mom Love,
Chris Hunter

A comprehensive list of item(s) donated, donors, and value needs to be done by Monday, October 15th, so that placards/bid sheets can be created for each item. The list is also needed so that adequate space will be available for the display of the items

NOVEMBER MEETING – Goody Bags
Our November meeting will be at Trinity Lutheran. We will assemble the Fall Goodie Bags for our students at that time and we have approximately 70 students at A&M.
Be on the lookout for what you will want to include for our kids. Additional info you might think about:
-
Goodies can include pens, pencils, small food/snack items, (candy, popcorn, Raman noodles, crackers, gum) toothbrushes, note pads, etc.
-
Please avoid liquid items.
-
Please do not bring strong flavored minty gums. Apparently, the strong flavors permeate other items.
-
Watch for heat sensitive items, as bags are sometimes stored in the truck of a car for several days.
Please do not feel you have to purchase for all 70 students. Either contact other Aggie Moms and go in together or if you would like to let Lanee know at lanee.warrick@wvisd.net and she will hook you up with 2 or 3 other people.
